My homemade jerk seasoning/dry rub has raked in over 370,000 views on Instagram for a reason!
I'm gona triple this and store it in a mason jar. –@marcvilian
I don't blame you Marc! While traditional wet jerk has its charm, and fresh ingredients are unbeatable, this DIY jerk seasoning blend can be your secret weapon to a burst of flavor. When all you need is a sprinkle for that sizzling shrimp or chicken salad, this dry mix has your back. It's the shortcut to bold flavor without the fuss!
What You'll Need:
This recipe consists of 16 seasonings and herbs
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp ground thyme
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp chilli pepper flakes
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 ground clove
1/2 cumin
Mix it, Blend it!
Once you've gathered all of your ingredients, add all of them to a small mixing bowl. Mix together until everything is nicely uniform and BAM! There you have it. Your very own Jamaican jerk seasoning blend. Store in an airtight container and use as needed.
It's really that simple, I don't know why I didn't think to do this much sooner.
Sprinkle it liberally over grilled veggies for a Caribbean kick or add a dash to your next marinade for an instant flavor boost. Mix it into mayo for a zesty sandwich spread or dust it over popcorn for a spicy movie night treat. This versatile blend even elevates fries to a whole new level! Don't take my word for it though. Try it for yourself and let me know what you think.
Saw this when it first went viral on Insta and immediately tried it, minus the salt. Hubby likes it on everything!
